About the Author

William C. Head began his formal education at the University of Georgia, graduating with his BA degree in 1973. He immediately entered law school at UGA and was admitted to the Georgia State Bar in June of 1976.

Over Mr. Head’s legal career, he has been honored with numerous awards and received numerous legal industry honors. He is a former recipient of the National DUI Lawyer of the year award (2003) by the National College for DUI Defense, Inc. This is the only award of its kind to be given to an attorney. He is also the only DUI specialist included on BestLawyers.com for the State of Georgia.

In recognition of his expertise in DUI defense, many law organizations have asked Mr. Head to chair seminars on DUI defense techniques and strategies. Mr. Head is a gifted instructor, and has been a seminar speaker on DUI Defense in over 30 States.

Mr. Head is the author of authoritative publications on DUI law, such as “The DUI Book.” This comprehensive journal has proven to be so informative that attorneys in multiple states have requested his help to co-author state-specific editions of this treatise for clients.

Mr. Head is a frequent guest speaker and interview personality, appearing on more than 50 television and radio programs on the subject of drunk-driving defense. He is quoted in newspapers and publications around the country such as USA Today, New York Times, Lawyers Weekly USA, The National Law Journal, and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Mr. Head is a member of key professional legal organizations. These include: National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, National College for DUI Defense, Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, American Academy for Justice, American College of Forensic Science, and the American Bar Association, among others.

He is also a former Regent and a co-founder of the National College for DUI Defense, Inc.
